I am creating this website for my (Dis)Locating Violence class, where we look to understand and empathize with the victims of the Holocaust and what they went though when they were prisoners. Therefore, I decided to take a look at the Nazis not commonly mentioned in the high schools, (the ones I found I had never heard of before I started this project). Similarly, I wanted to take a look at other survivors that aren't talked about in high schools.

 

I remember learning about Eli Weisel, survivor of Auschwitz, but he was the only one.

I wanted to explore the areas of the Holocaust that are not taught within the schools. To explore why Treblinka was forgotten while Auschwitz was remembered.
